The rationale behind the collaboration was to continue the ongoing relationship between Stussy and Nike which extends approximately 10 years. This year marks Stussy’s 30th anniversary and so Nike wanted to do something extra special. The Stussy varsity jackets have become very popular over the past 30 years, the most famous of which are the tribe series. The Stussy creative team was very impressed with the Nike NSW Destroyer Jacket when they saw them in Japan two years ago.

Stussy wanted to work on our own version as we felt that Nike had enhanced an icon. The added technological benefits put the Nike NSW jacket ahead of the conventional varsity jackets we had been used to seeing and so this is how the collaboration was born.

Stussy also decided to work on a Nike All Court Mid Supreme shoe which was sometimes used in the past by skaters when it was first on the market. The aesthetic of the shoe also fits the simple, classic Stussy vibe. This model has also become somewhat of a recent classic with special versions created in conjunction with APC and Hiroshi Fujiwara. We also added a tee shirt to compliment the pack.
